Dec. 6-10, the Santa Fe Film Festival will bring some 180 films your way, at nine different venues. The star-studded Festival Gala is Dec. 9 at the Scottish Rite Temple, with Ali McGraw and Peter Fonda among those expected to attend. This year’s lifetime Luminaria Award winners are Hungarian-born cinematographer Laszlo Kovacs (“Five Easy Pieces,” Ghostbusters,” etc.) and Spanish writer/director/producer Fernando Trueba (“Belle Epoque.”) Galas and special presentations confirmed to date include: “Perfume: The Story of a Murderer,” starring Alan Rickman and Dustin Hoffman; and the Pedro Almodovar film “Volver,” starring Penelope Cruz and much, much more.
