 Writing form the Inside Out

Five-week creative writing class begins June 18. Enrollment limited to six students.  You know the outer rules of stucture and plot and pacing, but they all add up to nothing without a firm grasp of the “inner rules” that govern the craft. This five-week course begins with an overview of Aristotlean structure, meanders through the dense forests and vast plains of archetypes and allegories, stops to savor the universal symbolism of our personal lives, and ends in the air-conditioned warehouse of our own experiences, where you discover a powerful set of tools you can use anytime and anywhere to lure your characters and ideas from your head to the page.

I’ve been a professional writer for more than fifteen years, and have written for the Albuquerque Journal, the Eldorado Sun, the Christian Science Monitor and magazines. I have written plays (one of which top top honors in Southern Oregon State College’s writing competion) and one of my
screenplays is being considered by Warner Brothers Pictures. I have consulted on many projects, and have taught writing at Santa Fe Community College and currently teach literacy at Penitentiary of New Mexico. References available. Since class size is limited, you might want to call now.
$150.
