Nomination time for arts awards: The New Mexico Arts Commission and New Mexico Arts, a division of the Department of Cultural Affairs, are accepting nominations for the 2007 Governor’s Awards for Excellence in the Arts. Nominations may include living artists who have made significant contributions to the arts as well as nonartists, businesses and nonprofits or foundations involved in the arts, a news release says. Nominations will be reviewed in March, and recipients will be honored Sept. 14 at a ceremony.
