 COURSE DESCRIPTION: The course intends to give you an overview of how films are shot in relationship to the role continuity plays in making films. You will be introduced to the basic rules of continuity (screen direction, eyelines, matching action, narrative continuity, “the line”, time continuity, blocking techniques and much more…). Script notes/scene dailies will be analyzed. This part of the course benefits aspiring directors and/or script supervisors learning how to block and shoot feature films, working with the rules of continuity. The workshop then focuses on a beginning introduction to the craft of the script supervisor - covering the skills/duties/responsibilities required to script supervise on feature films. Also included will be the working relationship between the script supervisor/director/dp from pre-production through production in relationship to maintaining continuity throughout the shooting process. This is a very interactive/hands-on workshop. The instructor uses a wide variety of film clips, dailies, video cameras, exercises, to explain each concept introduced in the workshop.  This Introductory Course Prepares You For The “Beginning Script Supervising 8 Day Workshop” Which Be Offered Later This Fall In New Mexico.
