Three day INTERMEDIATE excursion into the wonderful world of depth improvisation based on the work of Ruth Zaporah and ACTION THEATER.  This workshop is suitable for ANYONE who HAS A BASIC KNOWLEDGE  of Action Theater and wishes to continue exploring the surprising gifts and wisdom that can come from the practice of this wonderful embodied form of improvisation.  In this
session you will have the opportunity to learn:
 How to let go of preconceived notions of how a “story” should progress
and listen to the in-the-moment impulse that begs to stretch the
imagination….how to say “yes”.
 How to connect to your body and let it help provide the presence and
awareness that can create a naturally flowing improvisation.
 How to work with a partner or in solo and respond in a way that opens
your pallet of expression to a larger world of possibility
 How to use language as “movement” to create dynamic voices and
image-packed narratives
 How to let go and have fun in a safe and supportive atmosphere
 IF YOU HAVE NO PRIOR ACTION THEATER EXPERIENCE BUT FEEL YOU HAVE RELATED EXPERIENCE THAT WILL ALLOW YOU TO PARTICIPATE, YOU ARE WELCOME!   PLEASE CALL ME TO DISCUSS.
 Finally, while a lot of wonderful humor inevitably comes up, our aim is
not to turn into the funniest human beings we can be.  Authenticity,
the “you in there” is what allows the full pallet of human expression
to take flight.  We leave no “feeling state” unturned!
  FRIDAY, JUNE 8TH:  6 TO 9PM AT LINDA RODECK’S HOUSE.  AMY GARDNER’S CEREMONIAL SPACE WILL BE USED.  STUDENTS ARE INVITED TO PITCH A TENT AND STAY THE NIGHT IF THEY WISH.
