IN OUR AUGUST 2007 THEATRE AND FILM/VIDEO FUNDING NEWSLETTERS

Dear Theatre and Film/Video Artists,

The Fund for Women Artists Funding Newsletters for August 2007 are now online, and you can click on the links further down the page to read them. But first, we have two special announcements.

* The Fund for Women Artists Is Moving to San Francisco !  The offices of The Fund for Women Artists will be closed from July 26 through August 3 because we are moving across country from Northampton , Massachusetts to San Francisco , California .  We are very excited about this move and the new programs we will be introducing in the coming year.  We will send out an announcement with more details as soon as we are settled on the West Coast.

* Thanks So Much for Your Letters of Support!  Thanks so much to all of you who sent letters of support for our application to the National Endowment for the Arts next month.  The letters have been so thoughtful and heart-warming.  Your enthusiasm and kind words really mean a lot to us, and we promise to keep working as hard as we can to deliver the best possible services to you.

If you have not written a letter yet, there is still time. As we mentioned in our June newsletter, The Fund for Women Artists will be applying to the National Endowment for the Arts in August for funding to support our free website services, specifically these funding newsletters, the WomenArts News, and our innovative online directory of women artists, the WomenArts Network.  Even though our website serves over 300,000 people a year and there are almost 1,000 artists on the WomenArts Network, the NEA cannot seem to grasp the need for our services, and they have only funded us two years out of the past six.

Our staff contact at the NEA told us that it would strengthen our application if we had more letters of support from the people we serve.  If you appreciate these newsletters or any of our other services, please take a few moments to send us your thoughts.

Please be as specific as possible about the things you like - Do our newsletters save you time? Does it help that we always include the fees and that we highlight opportunities for women? Have you gotten grants as a result of information you found through us? Is it important to you that our services are free? Do you like knowing that there is an organization dedicated to women artists?

Please send emails to info@WomenArts.org or snail mail to: The Fund for Women Artists, 3739 Balboa Street #181 , San Francisco , CA 94121 .

Thanks so much for your help!
